The Forge Online Schooldid not begin as a school.

A message from our founder.
The Forge Online School did not begin as a school.
It began with just the founder as the teacher and one learner at a time.
After graduating from the university, I found myself teaching in both a physical classroom and as an online tutor. Although I had worked with young children even before gaining admission into the university, returning to the classroom reminded me why I had always loved teaching. Whether in school or serving in the children’s ministry at church, I naturally connected with children, especially those in their early years and teenage years.
As I taught, I noticed something that deeply troubled me.
In many classrooms, teachers work incredibly hard to cover the curriculum within a limited time. Because of this pressure, we often have no choice but to move at the pace of the children who understand quickly, while those who need more time gradually fall behind. It is never intentional, but it happens.
I remember teaching a pupil who was intelligent, hardworking and capable, yet lacked the confidence to participate. She constantly doubted herself. With extra encouragement, patience and personalised attention, I watched her confidence begin to grow. That experience stayed with me.
At the same time, I realised I could relate to those children because I had once been one of them.
Growing up, I was a very timid and shy child. I often knew the answers but lacked the confidence to speak or step forward. Even into my university years, that lack of confidence affected many areas of my life.
What I needed was not more intelligence. I needed someone who believed in me, encouraged me and gave me the confidence to grow.
That personal experience shaped the burden I carry today.
I began asking myself: what if every child had a safe learning environment where they could learn at their own pace, ask questions without fear, discover their strengths and build genuine confidence?
That question became the foundation of The Forge Online School.
The name “The Forge” represents a place where something valuable is carefully shaped, refined and strengthened.
We believe every child carries unique potential, and with the right guidance, encouragement and personalised support, that potential can flourish.
Today, we provide one-on-one tutoring and intentionally small group classes so every learner receives the attention they deserve. Beyond academic excellence, we are committed to helping children build confidence, develop strong values, discover their identity and become independent learners who are prepared for the future.
At The Forge Online School, we are not simply preparing children to pass examinations. We are raising confident learners, supporting intentional parents and partnering with educators to shape the next generation.
Because when confidence is built early, children do not just perform better in school. They thrive in every area of life.
Five commitments we hold to, in every class, for every child.
We build the classroom around your child, not the other way around.
We hold to Nigerian standards of rigour. No shortcuts. No soft grading.
Christian values integrated as character education: respect, humility, courage, honesty.
You'll hear from us monthly. Not just when there's a problem.
The syllabus is the beginning. Confidence is the goal.
Not present. Invested.
Every Forge teacher holds a full teaching qualification and at least five years in the classroom. But that's the floor, not the ceiling.
We hire for something harder to test: the willingness to slow down for one child. To notice when a hand almost went up. To remember, three weeks later, that Ade said his cousin was visiting.
Our vetting takes six weeks. We turn away 9 in 10 applicants. Not because they aren't good. Because being good isn't enough here.
